Fun Fact #1: God is so good.

Fun fact #2: Adventures In Missions is switching platforms for World Race blogs and fundraising.

And for extra fun, I will be making those two things connect in this one blog.

On October 1st, AIM fully transferred to their new platform for fundraising.  The current platform still functions for blogs for a time and the original donation link is directed to the new website, so I was in no rush to set up my new profile.  I heard that the website was working some bugs out, so I had decided to just give it some time.

As of Saturday, I believed I had raised ~$14,400.  I am so thankful for everything God has done to provide that money because I would not have anticipated that in my circumstances for fundraising.  After seeing what He had done already, I wasn’t at all worried that God would provide the rest.  I didn’t know how or when, but we had time and I had trust.

In working on my blogs, I decided it was finally time to take the two minutes (literally haha) to set up my new profile. I got it up and running and the first screen it opened to was a progress bar that said 98%.  My jaw dropped when I realized that was my updated fundraising total.  In a month of not looking at my progress I had raised more than $1,100 and now I have less than $400 dollars left to raise!!!

I was sitting with my team and was eager to tell them and celebrate.

Seeing and saying that I’m so close to being fully funded feels surreal.

The fundraising process has been a huge encouragement to me.  Knowing I have so much support behind me and people by my side has made a huge difference in my mindset on this trip.  People believe in the work God is doing on this trip and it’s encouraging that they want to help me to be part of that.  Raising an amount of money that seemed so outlandish just a few months ago has built my trust and dependence on God and has been a great reminder that He put me here.  Hearing people say they enjoy my blogs warms my heart and reminds me of the importance of speaking on what God is doing.  Even just the task of writing blogs has given me the space to write out and process what this trip looks like to me and that has been helpful too.  They mean it when they say fundraising can be a great process when done right.
