My answer to the question “What do you want to do after high school?” was always ”good question.” I have jumped around so many ideas of what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to be a fashion designer, then a teacher, then an engineer, then an architect. I finally landed on having no idea. Eventually I found my call to ministry, but I still didn’t know what that looked like. After a while of wondering and praying about what to do, the time to make some decisions was drawing near. I knew I loved to travel, so one of the ideas at the top of my list was to build a van and start van life while traveling around the United States trying to find short mission trips to be involved in. That was my penciled in plan when my youth pastor told me about World Race. I had thought about going into missions before, because traveling while telling people about Jesus sounds like the dream. However, I wasn’t planning on going to college and I didn’t realize that I could start with something like that so soon. I quickly started looking into the organization and the mission trip options that were available. I was mainly looking into the gap year mission trips, made specifically for people right out of high school. Many people on these trips said that it helped them better understand God’s calling for their life and His path for their future. During Gap Year I hope to grow to better hear God’s voice and fully let Him take control and guide me. I’m also incredibly excited to help people all around the world hear about Jesus’ amazing love.
Wishing you the best in your future plans. Stay safe and enjoy your adventure/mission!
